overheating ? any issues to keep in mind

hi , from Australia, any tips on bike re summer temperatures. i dont ride above 35 c, is the bike capable for summer riding? 30 - 35 cel. and in traffic, any feedback would be most appreciated
 
Temperatures above 32c are common in my area. I haven't noticed any overheating issues and actually prefer riding the R18 to my Victory when it's really hot because it runs so much cooler.
 
I'm in Singapore and most days(when it doesn't rain) it >28c to about 35c..

rode between points about 30-45mins and a few time in town when about 10-15mins there is stationary traffic or low speed below 20kmh traffic.. no issues with the bike..
tried both FatBob/FatBoy over the weekend in flowing traffic for 20+mins each and its still feels hotter than on the R18... placement of the exhaust, and exhaust heat can be felt on my right leg
 
Turn the bike off at a railroad crossings and known long waits. The jugs need air flow which only happens while moving. The energy generation during a long idle in heat will raise the oil temp. For years I have watched Harley riders sit contentedly on their idling bikes when it is 95+ Fahrenheit (35 C). Makes no sense.
Besides our bikes idle at 950 rpm (too low in my opinion) which is shake time for these big boxers.

I live in western Turkey where the temperature rises to 35-40C during summer quite frequently.

I never had a high temp warning despite some long waits at traffic lights. Although after reading this thread, I’ll turn the bike off from now on, just to be safe.
 
thanks mate, that makes me feel more confident, i think the cyclinders jutting out each side is the difference compared to v twin sitting behind each other, another BMW first

I know Austrailia is a far cry from Northeastern USA; That having been said, the 1800 is a slow turning, understressed motor that holds a gallon of oil with an oil cooler. given the fact that many of the countries they (BMW) do business in are as hot as Australia, I would be surprised if overheating would be a problem. That having been said, I suggest you talking with the techs at your dealer
