Looks like the same temperature sensor I installed into a 1998 Land Rover D90 Defender that I'm working on... Resistance value goes down, as temperature goes up..

I wish the TFT could report the oil temperature, similar to the tire pressure...

I am planning on installing a oil temperature gauge on my R18 C. When I do my upcoming oil change I will install a M16x1.5 adapter plug with a 1/8 NPR sensor instead of the OEM drain plug. the wiring is pretty straight forward. I will tap into switched power at the plug under the left battery cover. I also will install a power block first at the plug. I ride mostly in FL and it can be very hot and I just want peace of mind. I will post updates about it once I have it hooked up
Like to hear if it's a success I live in Scotland so I don't need one 😎

You should send your 300v sample in for testing. Curious to see how it held up with the heat and carbon build up over street use. That oil doesn’t have detergents, so I’m curious to how this option works for full-time road use.

I use the 7100 but I do want to run a sample to see how it’s held up with a mix of really hard riding and slow and steady cruising with all the hills in my area.

I do wish these bikes had the temp displayed. So important on an oil cooled machine!

the magnetic Oil plug had absolutely nothing attached to it. when you rub the oil between your fingers it is incredibly slick compared to Amsoil that I had sitting around in the garage. The 300V exceeds all Api specs.

Nice! That’s what I like to hear. I have 4 cans coming Friday as they were on sale. Will swap out the 7100 for 300v competition. I ended up getting the car version as that’s what the Porsche air cooled guys run.
