Hi all, just thought that I would introduce myself whilst I await delivery of my recent purchase, a 2022 R18 First Edition. Have been riding off and on for 50+ years and gone through Old Classics, Harleys, Sport Bikes and my last on a Kawasaki Z900RS, I needed a change and the uniqueness of the R18 appealed as well as its build quality.
Can't wait to get it in 2 weeks time and get to know its undoubted idiosyncracies!!!

Hi, Advised by the 'reputable' dealer, paint was a ltd edition special order and the bags which have lights in the rear again ordered from new by the original first owner. Apparently looks better in the flesh than the photo!!!!
I was looking at another one at the same time in a vivid green, but preferred the one that I bought especially with the chrome V&H exhausts, rear rack and panniers.

Welcome my friend , just like yourself i,ve been through a few bikes in my lifetime , i wanted a comfortable bike as i,m knocking on a bit now , all i did to my 22 classic was change the seat and install a backrest, now i love it enjoy .

Just found out about the paint. Apparently BMW Motorrad commissioned a company to paint 40 R18's from new, 10 in 4 x different colours. The one that I have is Black Storm Mettallic Purple Silk!!!!

Welcome to the R18 Family!
First thing you need to do is to adjust the rear suspension to your weight. Very few know about this including dealerships!
It will make a huge difference!
