BMW R18 First Edition
Hi, I picked my First edition up a few weeks ago and love it. I've owned a F650CS, R1200R, and R1200C. This bike has an incredible ride, so smooth and surprisingly easy to maneuver. One question, how on earth do you lock the steering? Tried it a few times and gave up!

Hello and welcome! Another person who has/had a R1200C, interesting 🤔.

I have not tried to lock the steering, I'll try this evening when I get home.

To lock the steering head, turn the handle-bars full left. Release the key from the Fob. Insert the key into the steering lock, turn 1/8 Turn anti-clockwise and the push in. You may have to move the handlebars slightly for the lock to engage. When lock cylinder goes all the way in, turn key 1/8 turn clockwise and remove.

That worked perfectly...moving the handlebars was the trick.
