Anyone have any performance mods? I swapped out my air filter to the one some of you guys recommended with better air flow. I'm thinking of the Bren tune re map???

And I guess that's it??

It really smoothened things out. It’s not a speed bike, but a little more juice doesn’t hurt.

Just my 2¢ ... I was really thinking about the tune ... but most people that have it, really don't report any significant improvements (power wise) and I did try to contact them via email and here through a PM on the forum for a couple basic questions and received 0 reply ... so this will not be for me ... Uschi has plenty of power and I like the 'rumble' ... but that's just me.

I also contacted them twice months apart and got nothing but a reference to their site via e-mail which obviously I already had....I don't recall if the site shows the standard dyno HP and Torque curve and after the Bren Tune install?

I also had some questions about the install of their map, EXACTLY how do I do it and what does it require? Of course no answer there. If the only benefit to their tune is to smooth out the acceleration curve...that's not of interest to me as I like bikes with cams that have steep ramps, super smooth is not what I'm after. I'd be looking for more torque and IF there are any flat spots take them out.

So it looks like since their customer service is not so hot....I might pass...

Just sent Bren Tune his E- mail, I'll give it one more shot...

BT,

I have contacted you before and just gotten an-mail to refer to your site. The site does not answer any questions.

Do you have a dyno sheet of the before and after the download of your map showing the HP and torque curves?

How EXACTLY is your tune installed, what is the process?

I’m not interested in a hand held device but a permanent re map. I don’t think it will effect the warranty on my bike doing standard service.

I’m on the BMW R18 website. There are a LOT of members. A few have bought your product with decent reviews overall.

However many like me received no customer service or just a reference to your website, and blew off your product thinking your customer service is so poor why bother.

If you can’t help me I’ll forget about the tune.

Thanks,

Hey Randy, I do understand your concern, but to answer some questions. The website does list the dyno information of before and after… as for the handheld option that’s to actually write or remap the ecu itself. There is a video and pdf with instructions. That’s just my thoughts on your email. I’m just looking at it from both sides here. We do installs for BT as for many of our vendors and it’s pretty straight forward. I have yet to have an unhappy customer with it and most issues are resolved within a few hours.

Where on a R18 is the ECU where you plug it in?

Thanks.

Really? I'm wondering if it's worth it....
I didn't notice a difference in power when I got mine. It did make the throttle in Sport mode more responsive, which I actually don't care for. It is much more sensitive than any other bike I have, so switching between bikes has me over-revving the R18 in Sport mode unless I adapt my hand. If it's your only or primary bike then it won't matter at all to you.

Thanks. I only ride in sport mode, looking for more torque, so if that's not happening or really noticeable I won't bother. Right now this is my only bike. Not planning on buying another for now.
