Loose Connector

BMW R18 Transcontinental
Cleaning my bike today I noticed a connector hanging down from the fairing next to the left from fork. I could not see a place to put it or what the connector is fore. Any information would be appreciated.

Looks like an ambient temp sensor and these usually slide into a plastic clip thing. I'll look on mine to see where it went.
 
I agree with Adam, looks like a temperature sensor. Check behind the fairing where it covers the front (clutch side) fork / shock; I marked up the attached picture.

Thanks for the information, I found the clip where the sensors attaches to the bike.
