OK, just an update on the "Front fender" situation..... I bought and just received my Aliexpress front fender. I figured that for $200USD if it turned out to be crap, I would only be out the $200, not a big deal, so I ordered the fender, not knowing what the fender would be like.

So, the fender is very very nice, high quality, no blemishes, it seems to be either plastic or fiberglass and appears to be be a copy or replica of the DK designs fender that they sell. BUT..... and the only "but" or issue which I was slightly disappointed with, was that the black paint does NOT have many metal flake or metal dust that the tank and rear fender has. The paint on this fender does match the frame paint and fork paint but does not have the slight metal flake/dust that the original front fender has. Not a huge issue, especially for $200. Pinstriping is very nice.

I am assuming that this seller on Aliexpress is the manufacturer that sells to DKdesigns and has decided to also sell directly to consumers also. I do not have a DKdesign fender to compare but sure looks like an exact copy from photos.

Overall very happy, especially for the price paid.

Can anyone with a DKdesign fender let us know...... is the DKdesign fender painted with metal flake or metallic dust in the paint ....similar to the tank paint ?

Depending on the style you prefer, KlockWerks now has 14 gauge steel front fenders in a few different styles.
They are only available primed but they literally come ready for paint with no prep required.

I bought this plastic fender intended to a HD Fat Boy. I had to make adapting plates and had it painted to match.
Happy with the result, particularly since I swapped the front wheel to a 16' .
The pics are showing the 16 &19' wheels.
The fat tire fills the fender much better.

I bought a Klock Werks mudguard a couple of months ago and I'm really pleased with it. Only downside was the cost; I live in the UK and totally underestimated the import taxes and handling charges. I also had it chromed and I totally underestimated the cost of that too. All told the overall price could be split fairly equally three ways so you get the idea!!
Anyway it's turned out better than I expected and I'm pleased with the overall look of my bike. Attached are a couple of pictures,,,

beejeezus, I shudder at the thought of that cost
Yes can imagine the post.Brexit consequences. Used to order quite a fewboth tuning stuff and breakers parts from the UK but find the uplift prohibitive. I totally do not get how that works but China has a trade deal with Spain eliminating all such!

Thanks for the photos.

Love you homage seat btw. It there any ´give´ (suspension) in it?

I used to buy things from all over Europe as well but as you say Brexit has really messed things up. I bought the Fehling engine bars from Germany and took a hit on the import taxes there too.

The homage seat is good for about a 100 miles before things start getting uncomfortable. No give in it so you really do feel the bumps in the road. I got it free along with the fitting kit from BMW as compensation for the reverse gear recall so it's been swings and roundabouts I guess.

Hope you get your mudguard soon,,,

Thanks,

Was hoping for a ´sprung´ solo seat. Even if only a bit. That makes súch a difference. I van one on my vintage Vespa as well as on the Nimbus. Would realy like to have it on the R18.
Will continue any more on this subject in a seat thread,
