Part 2 has the DIY air filter video, see what's happening in the air box; perhaps the bike found itself - upside-down..

Thank you. You were right. There was a good bit of engine oil behind the engine cover and in the air filter box. I'm unsure of the path the oil is taking to escape but I think unimportant. I'll clean up the excess oil and hopefully the leak will dry up stop in a few weeks of riding.

Finally got ready to test ride project bike. Got all suited up, kickstand up, started bike, put in gear, and engine cut off immediately. Tried a few more time, same results. Was thinking maybe ECU needs to be synced with new speedometer? Then realized bike was acting just like my 1250RT when kickstand is down. Maybe KS switch wiring was damaged? It looks like someone cut the wires. Who knows why. Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations on connecting 3 wires with little slack in a tough location. Thoughts appreciated. Pic below.

You're going to need a small jumper to make the wires connect.
Thank you. My apologies. I was holding the other end in my hand to make the pic. The is just enough slack to reconnect. I used heat shrink butt connectors. All good now.
