Bike
R18 First Edition Triumph Sprint GT Honda VTX1800
Waiting on delivery of a (very low mileage) 2022 R18 First Edition (chrome pack and reverse gear fitted) to add to my flock/herd/collection.
Here for the craic, advice and information.
Already done a fair bit of research about the bike but the common gripe I have found is BMW themselves. No service manual, got to use approved/expensive parts and as I do all my own maintenance, I was a bit concerned till I rediscovered the joy of youtube, this forum and other discussion groups.
I will obviously ask some daft questions but as I get into the bike, I will happily share any exciting discoveries I make!
Happy riding everyone and the shiny side is always best kept up

Hello mate. Welcome aboard and congratulations on your new to you bike to come.
Loads of topics covered here already under the search 🔎 engine. Just type your key words and you will find reading materials that will take you all the way to the 3am trip to the loo.
Scott Semone (aka Star Lord) has done a few well documented videos in YouTube regarding maintenance, upgrades and other improvements. I have a manual I can share with you but it is very big and it won’t fly via email or zip folder and although is aimed at the TC, all variants share the same power plant, therefore you will find 90% of what you need there. If you PM me your mobile, I will send it to you via WasApp.
Enjoy your new bike and post pictures.

PS. Cumbria is one of my favourite regions in the UK.

Morning. In my experience BMW service has been very reasonable and pretty effortless tbh. I’ve always done my own routine services on previous bikes but was pleasantly surprised when i returned to using a main dealer (for not voiding warranty and yes i know it shouldn’t matter blah blah blah but i decided to just play it safe and avoid any hassles). Just book it in in plenty of time and try to avoid the obvious busy periods. Owners pay a lot more in the US but their bikes are wayyy cheaper to begin with. Yin & Yang. My understanding is that Service Manuals are not available because of you guessed it….Euro Regs. ‘They’ don’t want people servicing their own bikes so make it more difficult in lots of ways. Think it will be the same with most if not all new bikes. Welcome along. 👍
