Thank you for the detailed write up sir. Gosh you must be chasing the best ride,,, the bike already has the weekender seat, high profile Classic front tire too

Pork Rind

I do my own forks, and go ride your Big V twin.

Yep its a lot. Want to ride a BMW, get out your wallet.
Just paid $125 for a SET of fork seals for an 04 GSX-R from Suzuki. Could have bought them aftermarket for less than half. My choice to use factory.

I only used my own tools. It takes a few hours if I take my time and do it right. I have done a Road King front end, no different.

2012 R1200R no fork leaks in 77,000 miles.

I had an R1100RT. I have a Gold Wing. I want the best ride.

I admit when this R-18 was new, It rode like crap. Bridge approaches were the worst, I could not tell how bad they are. I hit a couple on 495 that sent me for a loop. Now I don't even think about it.

Anyone find more economical solutions to the gasket kit? I have a fork seal leak and just spent $220 on both sets. Seems like highway robbery when typical seals from All-Balls run about $50 for the sets. BTW… using Bel-Ray fork oil at 20w - $18 per liter vice BMW’s $55 and I think it’s the same if not better.

I did the arnott air suspension on the rear.. happiest person ever lol

Just adding my .02 cents to the suspension harshness. The rear shock made the world of a difference, though I went Ohlins aftermarket (BM180). For those reading this, don't bother with Ohlins and go Wilburs instead as you will be much happier with the spring rating, increased suspension travel, and optional height increase.

I'm writing up a post on my install and findings with the Ohlins.

I went with the Arnott air setup. It’s been awesome and adjustable. Can dump the bike when I park and it looks cool.

Honestly I tried lol I can however make a quick video if you guys want explaining the system and how simple it is to install. The bike is highly modified already for me to pull parts off now for a video. When I did the install I shot a lot of video but never edited to something cause there was a lot to figure out at the time
