Exporting to the US or selling it in Europe

Hi everyone, I have a 2023 R18 TC, with 14k kms and I love it. I am moving for work to the US and want to take it with me, but some say it is a pain. Any experience or advice? I bought it in Vienna, brand new, with every possible bell and whistle, paid and diplomatic discount, paid 32K euros, now market is around 23-25k. I'd rather take it with me than leave it, but if it's a pain, what can i do!

It’s a no go permanently to my knowledge. I’m not aware of any way around it..

• Nonresidents may import a vehicle duty-free for personal use up to (1) one year if the vehicle is imported in conjunction with the owner's arrival. Vehicles imported under this provision that do not conform to U.S. safety and emission standards must be exported within one year and may not be sold in the U.S. There is no exemption or extension of the export requirements.

I have seen used TC and Model B bikes for sale, as low as $12,500 USD; perhaps, you can compare the cost of importing a vehicle and justify purchasing a used bike.

There was a really great priced First Edition Model B on the forum a while back (I think in California)

Which part of the US will you be posted at for work; there are lots of great riding areas throughout America?

Depending on what state you land in, registering it might be a big PITA. Unless you're going to put it in a shipping container with a bunch of other items, it's probably going to be cheaper to sell it and buy a new one in the States.
