BMW R18 - First Edition
Guys- I love my R18, but the exhaust sound is just feeble. I need grunt. I've looked at Vance and Akrapovic, and both seem to be fairly tame for my taste. I don't want to remove the baffles out of the fishtails.

Is there anything out there that matches the enormously gorgeous engine for sound? Shorties perhaps an option, but look a bit naff, not sure.

Suggestions/thoughts appreciated!

Mine is from 'Freedom' (click for link) they make a quiet and standard baffle option ... don't bother with the 'quiet' one, waste of money (ask me how I know 😆 ) ... I like it a lot ... just loud enough to be good ... IMO ... one drawback on mine ... it uses a different fastener system than BMW ... but mine came with the bracket.

EDIT ... to add that the baffles are very easily removed if it is still not loud enough ;)

I like the look & sound of the Jekyll & Hyde Exhaust, especially while in the Hyde mode sound-wise...

I'm not too crazy about the price... However, I can absolutely say, that their build quality is perfect..

Look wise, they match up perfectly on my R18 Model B (at least for me); installation wise, they include very detailed instructions for DIY folks.

Yes, I do like the 3 settings available. Heard the Hyde mode on their website, and sound really grunty. Also look very nice on your bike. Will take another look i think.

@Boiled Octopus I definitely hear you..need moar grunt!

+1 on the Jekill and Hyde system. One of the R18s I test rode had it installed and it sounded great on the wide open setting. Definitely not the loudest pipes but plenty for my taste. Of course they run around $3,500 USD without tax and installation. Still top on my mods list.

The stock BMW OEM exhaust parts, if you needed to purchase them to make a bike original would top out at over $6k...

Shark Road. Just ordered my 2nd set for my new R18 Classic. This time I will be removing the baffles before install it.

My Harley friends like the sound if that matters to you…
