Engine noise

Having ridden an BMW R1200C for about 14 years, I've notice the R18 has noticeably more noise coming from that cam chain. It is not a deal breaker by any means, but it is louder than I would have liked.
All in all, the R18TC is a fine piece of work.

It is a completely different engine - no surprise that the noises are different.

Might be an idea to get a listen to another r18 & do a comparison before worrying?

My R18 makes a lot more noise than my R1200GSA, so it may be normal.

She a noisy girl compared to many modern engines, but I like it as it fits her personality well.

Didn't notice anything riding 60 to 75mph.

Sounds like a Monstrous Big Fukcin 1802 cc push rod engine at idle.

btw,I don't wear my hearing aids when I ride and for you youngsters,use ear plugs so you won't end up sayin HUH?All the time,LOL!
