I must admit the dark engine case on the Bagger looks better than the light engine case on the TC. Bagger wins this.

I didn't realize that. The galaxy dust paint is impressive. I gave a lot of thought to deciding which paint to choose. Ultimately I went with the classic pinstripe but it was a toss up.

Galaxy Dust Metallic turns heads and is very cool but I think Black with Pinstripes look better. I went with Galaxy Dust Metallic mostly because I was able to get a used one for a great price. No regrets, loving the bike. The black engine is very cool. I thought I wouldn't like it initially but it won be over almost immediately!

Seriously I wonder what it would cost to swap the case? Or is that impossible due to many innards attached on the inside?

It would be cheaper to powder coat the cases you have if you were willing to put in the work to do the disassembly.

I know the engine color can be selected on the BMW site, as an option under the "Build Your Own" menu.

I was reading through one of the installation manuals (I forget for which option), but the engine cover dissembling steps were covered.
