Here in Germany I use hight octane no ethanol and is great with bt

He means 'Klopfen' ... and you have the advantage of having Aral 102 available to you .. in 'merica we do not have that option ... sigh

Maybe the "pinging" is nothing more, than a much needed valve adjustment...?

I'd be surprised if it was predetonation..... bike should adjust for that.

Yes, here in Germany we have Aral 102 and Vpower racing Max 0.7 ethanol. My land Brazil just approved E30 w/o other option no bike will survive.
Here I'm riding high octane with no pinging, BT recomends it.
Only thing I miss with the tuning is that the down gear decel pop is gone in Rock mode.
As friend said here improvement is subtle, but I can feel the difference specially stretching in Autobahn
In my Dyna I had fuel pack, enjoyed the control over options and got a bit more results than BT, but same kind of improvements.

Only thing I miss with the tuning is that the down gear decel pop is gone in Rock mode.

I found the tune took away some of the "rock" feeling, it didn't feel as raw. A less restricted pair of tail pipes fixed that.
