Be careful out there…used r18 parts on fb

Saw a great price for used set of the fabric R18 (square shaped) saddle bags. Went for a bicycle ride and when I came back the post was gone (on a fb R18 or R18 Owners web page). Next I know the seller sent a friend request. Prior I had gone to the person’s page and next to nothing was posted on the page. Not so sure I trust this ’seller’ now since when I first got back and saw a Reply message could not click to bring up the message thread.

One just doesn’t know what one might be dealing with when it comes to sellers on fb now days it seems :(
 
I did comment on the post that it looked like a scam. Seller said he was in Arkansas or something but his profile pic and most pics on profile were in UK.
 
I contacted a seller over cylinder covers. Profile pictures showed a western man with a beautiful wife. But when I was contacted it was clearly a scammer who got fed up why I insisted on verifying his ID and address. States he lived at Apollo Ferry Port! Always insist on checking ID
 
This person said KS. The post was on fb one minute then when I came back a few hours later and clicked to read the reply ‘he’ sent fb said it could not open the post and I no longer saw the items for sale listed. Guess it is good I did not get the bags. Hard to protect oneself when on the web buying used items for your bike now days.
 
Agreed. Certainly some scammers out there. However, I want to know where Adam Chandler gets HIS used parts from. He was able to get a TC top case for I think $500 bucks (if memory serves me correctly) with all the brackets. But I think he also sold the guy some stuff to get the top case for that price.

Regardless, these sort of "drug deals" are super-cool to see, and show that not all motorcyclists are content with what simply came from the factory.
