Ape Hanger Questions

2022 BMW R18B
I purchased from eBay a set of 15" rise handlebars along with the extended clutch & brake cables. These are about 5-6 inches taller than stock. My goal is to get the bars up at least 2" and back at least 2". My question is:
Do I also need extended electrical lines?

Sad to say no ... I am using the BMW OEM 'Great Apes' with the OEM wiring harness that BMW offered for these apes ... but if I would go aftermarket I would just use the original wires you have and cut and splice some more length into it ...
 
When I installed the BMW King Apes, they came with longer brake and clutch lines. The wire harness was folded over several times under the tank.
After removing the tank, I cut the zip ties and carefully unfolded the harness.
Right now I have a bit of fold over, but it is in front of the tank instead of under it.

If the handle bars are not intended for the R18, take careful measurements on the stock bars on the location of the drilled holes. You will need to drill matching holes on the eBay bars. Note the angle of the holes.
You may have to fabricate your own bar end weights. I went to a steel wholesaler and bought a couple of 5/8 diameter steel bars about 4.5 inches long. Drilled a hole on one end, then cut threads inside to get a screw barrel. This allowed me to fasten a finished look to the bars.

If you buy the "Weekender" seat from BMW, it will move you 1.5 to 2 inches closer to the handlebars.
