Anyone have an external GPS mounted on their B/TC?

I find the Connected App’s GPS/navigation lacking on my TC. I’m curious if anyone’s mounted a Garmin or such on their B or TC, and if so how did you do it?
Not interested in using a phone for navigation, but a real GPS.

This is the setup on my VN1600, it is a garmin nuvi 54 sat nav in a
waterproof cover bought on e-bay. It uses a RAM "U" bolt handlebar
mount & ball to ball connector. I had to make an adapter plate for
attaching the waterproof cover to a suitably sized ball mount. Power
can be sourced from a usb plug in the socket on the dash. On the
VN I have a switched socket with usb on the left bar.
A similar set up could be achieved with one of the weatherproof
bike sat navs. I suffer from short arms & deep pockets, & refuse to
pay the extra cash for a dedicated bike sat nav when there is an alternative
I can use.
