I'm not too concerned about how it looks, since it's designed to hide underneath my butt. I've had Saddlemen seats, Corbin seats, and RDL's. The RDL's get the job done in comfort, which is what I'm paying for. Form follows function. If you feel experimental try one of those Alaska Sheepskin seat covers. it should help some, provided neither of you weigh, say, over 200#. Beyond that your weight and seat bones pretty much dictate a custom seat of some sort. The older you get, the less tolerance your behind has for inadequate support on the seat. Not a fan of the look of the Russell Day Long on the R18, was liking it on the K1600 GTL but had both bikes seats re-upholstered and extra padding and and gel pads added which I am very happy with.
