Annual maintenance?

R18 First edition
I had my 2021 FE serviced last year at this time. My annual notification showed up to have my bike serviced. Since that service I only put 700 miles on my bike. I know, it was getting a some customizing done to it so it was down for a few months of the last riding season. My question is with only 700 miles is it worth proceeding with the service at the dealer? It seems a bit soon for such low miles and was thinking of going for another few months.
BTW I bought it used about 2 years ago and it currently has about 2200 miles on it. I plan on putting some decent miles on it since it is completed and our AZ weather is really nice right now. I also plan on fabricating a lift plate in a few weeks so I can put the bike up and do most maintenance myself.

I would not worry about it much if it were me. I do my own service and if I put only 700 miles on one of my bikes (it has happened) I would only do an oil change.

Mostly the same here.... but I'd still stick to brake fluid every 2 years..... I wouldn't sweat a few month delay though with those few k's

Totally agree on that. Brake fluid every 2 years though if my tester shows green I do go longer. At least I don't have to do the clutch fluid on the R18 since it isnt brake fluid like my others.
 
I know a guy who put a couple DIY maintenance videos together, plus a maintenance sheet..... Actually, I've seen a couple of other forum members who also put maintenance videos together, lots of good stuff to get you started
 
If you want to maintain your warranty - I believe that an annual service is required regardless of mileage. You can do this yourself as long as you document what you did. I do alll my own work and I keep a log of all work and receipts so I can maintain the warranty if needed.

Mine is a used '21. I believe my warranty is done.

Didn’t know that, what fluid is it then?

The R18 clutch uses mineral oil. Found rhis out AFTER I insisted the dealer change it when they changed my brake fluid.

Ahh, that explains why my BMW dealer didn’t do it. Knowledge is power! I had an old Citroen with hydragas suspension and I was made aware very quickly that it needed ‘special oil’. i.e mineral oil.
 
If the orange service warning light comes on due to time and not miles, the dealer will turn it off for $95. I know because I had less miles than was expected and didn't need service.
