6,000 mile service

I have heard horror stories about service shops providing shoddy service. Nightmare stuff.

In the light of the gazzillion services there are boúnd to be mistakes and what. As a rule though service is done right.
At the diy end of things, there are probably móre bodge jobs.

Maintenance on a motorcycle, should be right up there with maintenance practices similar to what it takes on an aircraft; in short, we can't afford to have something come loose or go catastrophic at 70 mph..

Whew, $881 is a steep price. May not go back again.
Ouch.

Adding insult to injury I’d wager this was just fluids/air filter and didn’t include a valve check or adjustment. BMW dealers in the U.S. love to skip that part of the factory recommended service.

In this particular engine, at the first 6k adjusting valve play is important. After that first adjustment it is likely tho stay stable.
