Brentuning Complete: My experience doing so...

Does anyone know if this tune eliminates engine pinging? I use premium fuel always non ethanol whenever it available and I get occasional pinging under load. Thanks

    Spark plugs

Hopefully if I (we) wait long enough there will be an option available other than purchasing through BMW at $25 a piece. They are manufactured by NGK aren’t they? Why aren’t they available in the “aftermarket”? I just swapped spark plugs top to bottom for the first time at 16,000 miles. I...

What did you do to your R18 today?

Was in the process of doing complete service and realized I had used my last factory air filter (thought I still had one more). I ordered a DNA filter and filter cage. Installation was a breeze. From now on I can start my future services with cleaning the reusable filter then allow it to dry...

    Convert R18TC into bagger

Update: I removed the trunk. It was very straight forward as mentioned before. Underneath the trunk there is a plastic cover being held in with two plastic push pins. There are two zip ties that hold the witing that need to be cut and then two electrical plugs that need to be disconnected...

What did you do to your R18 today?

Update: Got a chance to go out for a quick 90 mile ride with the stock bagger seat. I am extremely satisfied with the result. The reduced width takes the pressure off my inner thighs as I was hoping for. The contour of the seat keeps me from sliding forward as I did with the tall comfort seat. I...

    Customs R18

Yes! It was on display at the BMW “booth” at Sturgis a couple years back. Spectacular bike in person. Very cool bike.

    Cannot engage into first Gear

Yes since purchase there have been numerous occasions when stopped going from neutral to 1st gear doesn’t engage. Slight rocking of the bike forward or rearward and goes into gear no problem.

What did you do to your R18 today?

Bought a Utopia backrest and was loving it. What I haven’t “loved” for the last 11,000 miles has been the factory tall comfort seat. I was able to pick up a used Bagger seat which I thought was a standard height seat (now I am unsure). Two main things I was hoping to eliminate: 1. Most important...

    R18 T Bar Set Up

Good luck with your endeavor. I think you will find it to be more challenging than it should have to be. Not impossible by any means but my hope is that after all that effort you will have accomplished the look and feel you set out to achieve. If you have not already disassembled your current...

    Bad day

Personally I’ve always had the best luck getting the majority of large areas such as what you are dealing with by starting off with hot pipes. Then I use a damp microfiber towel and VERY quickly test a spot by dabbing the area. Once I am satisfied with the amount left over I follow up with a...

    Roctane Exhaust Conversion

Personally I wouldn’t hack and weld the Vance and Hines exhaust. Thats just me though. General consensus here is the Shark Roads are great pipes.
