I completely agree with your assessment, including with the deflectors that everyone here is so in love with.... In the end though I have no problem whatsoever with turbulence when the screen is removed, and I prefer the pipes and lights of the classic...so I'm a happy camper...

Got some extended night riding yesterday for the first time on this bike. The classic with its lighting package is really great at night. Had a 2 hour ride, split evenly between highway and back roads after fireworks yesterday evening.

I miss my R1200C! I should have kept it. Most everybody else hates these things, but I had mine since new over 20 years ago. Got rid of it when I got the R18

It's that time of year again. I have this, and it's super for really hot weather. Our friends from Northern Europe probably don't need something like this, but this is my go-to in July and August here in the Mid-Atlantic part of the US. Has real shoulder, elbow and back armor.
