    Vibriation under heavy load

I’m with Anibal, these are heavy bikes and yes they are very torquey but you’ve got to be realistic with expectations. Trying a hard pull in 5th with rider and pillion is a big ask, no wonder it vibrates, drop down a gear or two and repeat, I expect you’ll get a better result. I had a 6th Gen...

    Roctane being delivered Thursday

I would have thought accessories for the Classic and B would just bolt on, in particular the rear backrest you want. Not sure about a top box though. Someone may know for sure. Congrats on the bike 👍

    2nd R18 🥳

Yep, keeping the Roctane. I’ve spent the last two days moving stuff around and having a clear out in the garage to make room. That Harley looks nice 👍

RSD wheels and / or front springs + rear shock upgrade

The RSD wheels are probably very rare and no doubt expensive so you may be the first and only owner to take this path on a Roctane. Suspension is a personal thing, I find the standard bike pretty plush tbh (I’m 107kg or roughly 17st). Yes I try to avoid potholes but I do that no matter what I’m...

    2nd R18 🥳

Thanks mate 👍. I agree, they do grow on you these bikes and IMHO they have one of the best riders POV out there.

    2nd R18 🥳

Ahh, interesting, wouldn’t have known that. Thanks 👍

    2nd R18 🥳

Hi needtolose, no probs. The Roctane is great, Fantastic even. I can’t fault it really, it does everything I need and I find it very comfortable to ride with my weight, height etc. I don’t do motorways so sustained higher speeds where a fairing of sorts would be a benefit isn’t a priority for me...

    2nd R18 🥳

Tbh honest not really, I like the originality of it. Think I may swap out the oil cooler cover though to put a nice metal one on.

    2nd R18 🥳

Afternoon everyone. Well, after a lot of consideration and keen interest in what’s been discussed on the forum this last year (dwindling stocks of new bikes) I decided a while ago to try and bag myself a 2nd R18. I’ve had my eye on a particular red one for about 6 months and been in contact...

    BMW R18 Final drive solution?

Well, it is what it is. Your bike is an early one. The reason the original thread sort of fizzled out is probably a combination of many factors and shared lived experience on the forum (quirks if you like). Depending upon how many warranty claims were made worldwide (regarding the issue), from a...

    BMW R18 Final drive solution?

The lack of response is probably because this topic has been flogged to death. True there have been very isolated incidents where BMW have replaced seals under warranty (to cure a genuine leak from the driveshaft seal if I recall correctly) but the assembly paste creep explanation when warm...

    Annual maintenance?

Ahh, that explains why my BMW dealer didn’t do it. Knowledge is power! I had an old Citroen with hydragas suspension and I was made aware very quickly that it needed ‘special oil’. i.e mineral oil.

    Annual maintenance?

Didn’t know that, what fluid is it then?

Enjoy the ride and if you like it get it. I test rode an original (first gen) Tuono a long time ago and it went like stink so I can understand what you mean about them egging you on. They do. The R18 is at the other end of that spectrum tho, IMHO, and is a zen machine. Short shift, ride the...
