Worst feature on the bike has been the seat. I have never had such an uncomfortable one on any bike. Other than that a great bike. The more miles it does the sweeter the engine gets. When do you pick yours up ?
I got mine from there at the end of April. Now done over 5000 miles on it. They take a fair amount of progressive running in before they start to loosen up. Good luck.
I have had a K1600 and have a R18 Classic. For slower relaxed touring the R18 every time. If your game is 80 mph + touring then the K1600 takes some beating. Bags of power and the faster it goes the happier it seems. To me they are very different bikes for very different riding.
No I don't have floor or footboards. Just the standard footrests. My bike is the Classic so has the more conventional silencers rather than the fishtails. I wondered if that had impacted on the design of the sidestand.
I have the Classic ( ie screen & panniers ). It has the steering damper and the second type of side stand. The side stand design might be due to the different exhaust design.
By /5 and /6 I was referring to standard BMW production bikes of the 1970's which had high quality plastic front and rear mudguards ( fenders if you are from the USA) fitted. It is worth looking at how they are fitted and the quality of them.
Plastic (abs) is far better than metal for a mudguard. My old 1970's BMW /5 and /6 were fitted with them as standard and they are still good. Those on the Harley just rot. On the old BM's they had a stainless steel backplate but in those days quality was much better.
