    WheelDock with Larger Aluminum Fender

Good point. I didn’t try the strap that came with the wheel spacer kit. I’ll give it a go. Also I want to see if the spacers can be sanded down or custom ordered? I’d like to try a .4 spacer if I can get one.

    WheelDock with Larger Aluminum Fender

Hi Oscar, What size Wheeldock opening did you use for your TC? I know the front tire for the TC is listed as the same as the R18 and they recommend an opening of 4 7/8” (Model 3L Wheeldock). My Wheeldock (Model W525) was originally sized for the R18 Classic which has an opening of 5 1/4”. I...

    Tire pressure monitors for R18?

You can set limits. There is some good information here https://my-fobo.com/product-family/FOBO_Bike_2 .

    Tire pressure monitors for R18?

I've been using the Fobo Bike 2 for a year now...

    R18B LED turn signals

These are the instructions for installing the MotoGadget lights on the R-18 Classic https://r18forums.com/threads/motogadget-m-blaze-pin-on-r18-classic.620/ that I put together. I would expect the lights to be easier to install on the bagger since the assembly for the directional light of the...

    Thinking about a R18 Transcontinental

I'm the same way. It seems like most of the 2023s are coming loaded now. I'm looking forward to a test drive soon.

    Thinking about a R18 Transcontinental

Great feedback. For a different question have any of you upgraded your seat from stock? I have read about the Corbin Dual Touring Saddle on the forum. I know there is a Comfort Seat High which might be something I'd consider. I have loved my R18 Classic but I found I sat too low for my back...

    Thinking about a R18 Transcontinental

I've had the R18 Classic since 2021. I love the looks of the bike and it always brings a smile to my face but I'm considering upgrading to a Transcontinental. BMW has some great incentives now and I am tempted to take advantage of them. I have some long standing back problems and I'd like a...

Kellermann Prototype controller for Bullet Tail Lights

Unfortunately my contact at Kellermann left the company so I can't easily ask someone. There were two solutions they were working on, the one I describe above with a control box in the tail unit and one replacing the rear wiring harness. For the US model we got the control unit to work with the...

    Don't stuff your Classic bags

I barely have anything in my Classic bags and with little over 2,000 miles my right reflector went missing after a short ride today.

    Wiring

How about using the jumper terminal under the right side cover? Be sure to add a fuse.

Kellermann Prototype controller for Bullet Tail Lights

Hi Alex, I don’t have any details on other plug and play wiring kits. I’ve seen some lighting for front directionals offered in Germany that I haven’t seen BMW offer in the US. The person I contact at Kellermann did confirm they supply Bullet lights as an accessory to BMW but the bases aren’t...

Kellermann Prototype controller for Bullet Tail Lights

A few things. Like many other aspects of our bikes, the rear lights are monitored by computer using CAN bus: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN_bus If a connector in the tail light is unplugged or a light is disconnected you’ll get a warning in the instrument cluster. These aftermarket lights...

Kellermann Prototype controller for Bullet Tail Lights

At the beginning of January I got in contact with the lighting company Kellermann, https://www.kellermann-online.com/en . I was interested in their Bullet light options for replacing the tail lights on my US spec R18 Custom. This is an abbreviated story of what happened and the prototype I’ve...

    Washing Care

I always use a waterless Honda polish & cleaner spray, 08732-SCP00 , with a microfiber cloth. Sometimes I’ll use Mother’s polish for chrome pieces but usually the Honda spray does everything. Look on Amazon and see the ratings. I used it on my bikes for the last 7 years. It’s reasonably priced...

I’m at 1500 miles and I have the same problem. It only started recently. Once it’s warm it’s fine.

    Gas Mileage

I run 93 octane with fuel stabilizer in my R18 Classic that has 1200 miles on it. I didn’t have a passenger. I took a 98 mile ride this morning and I’m guessing I was running around 50mph most of the time. I always gas up at the end of the ride and if I’m correct with the calculations I got...

    Engine/crash bars

When I asked them this is what Hornig told me: “These bars are not sprayed with paint, they are powder-coated (with plastic instead of paint) which creates a much sturdier surface than ordinary paint. It is also more resistant to environmental factors like dust, water and dirt.” They have held...
