rain ride

last Sunday was a downpour ride ,so I headed out to see if I got electrical gremlins I've read about.
better close to the barn than middle of Nebraska.
I rode south from Lake Erie to points south on Ohio 60.it was pouring and I was in roll mode.(this is my newest
bmw )have a 74 r90/6 and a 95 k75rt.owned a lot of airheads.
not long into the ride I did notice electrical gremlins in roll mode.the bike was compensating for the rain,something
I would do for myself.i remembered rain mode and but the bike in it.now it was really compensating for the downpour.
good yes but takes the human out of the equation.
second thing I noticed the tc came with Michelin commanders.i. am almost totally deaf I always wear good hearing protection
and helmet my world is silent.S O A B if those tires were so loud I thought if I can hear this normal hearing people must really
hear a rock concert.
tires handled well in the heavy rain slowing down in tight corners in the rain the weight plays hell with cornering its not tires.
at slow speed it took me a while to relearn my ultra classic skills clutch/throttle/rear brake .
this tc is a heavy beast but underway tis steady as a rock.
bmw I would buy another one.good on you.

I've been in one of the worst rain rides of my riding experiences with my Model B; it was crazy size rain drops and a even flow of water running across the road for a solid 1.5 hrs., and happy to report not a single gremlin...

We were up in the middle of Maine, not a single place for us to pull over and shelter .

I struggle to use any ride mode other than rock..... my 100% "on the game" auto reflexes are fine tuned/calibrated to the one everyday feel you get programed into ones biological nerve/reflex system....eg... I would be at more risk doing a tight U turn in the wet in rain mode then I would be in rock.... the lack of "throttle on ramp up" could result in a drop.

The only bike I switch modes on is my r9t that has a "dirt" mode... mostly for the traction control and abs calibration it brings.

I agree ... 'Rock' all the way ... I only used the 'Rain' mode once ... to try it out ... the throttle response is so bad that I damn near dropped Uschi ... now I do have to admit that it does not rain a whole lot 'round here ... and when it does I do switch to 'Roll' mode to cut back a bit on power and increased traction ctrl ... simple fact that because it does not rain a lot the first 15 minutes are hell ... the roads are slippery as snot with all that dust and oil mix getting water added ... my reflexes are not that great
