What did you do to your R18 today?

With 'country' also very much defined by the country. US is different from Oz, from the UK, north vs south Italy or the mountains here.
I bemoaned the gearbox per example. For me 6th was already completely useless riding solo. I can imagine that in the US and Oz county-side it is a practical overdrive.

p.s. planning to attend a classic vehicle event on Sunday. I cannot realistically avoid the highway. I lóve that drive there over secondary roads but cannot go faster than about 35-40 km/h average MÁX! and it takes forever. I do it as a great drive but not to get somewhere like in this case. The highway is less than half the distance, only some 60 kms and most of it has about as many bends as Cali tale of the dragon and more difference in altitude. It passes through Rio Fio p.e. where the European Sturgeon is bred for both consumption and rewilding. 'Highway pegs' would be iffy on many a highway here ;)

Note to self; 'need' to plan a day thataway past the stunning dolmenes right next to the 'Victorian' reservoir dam at Pantano de los Bermejales. A day involved driving not adding up 150 kms.
Mosy of the secondary network which I I lóve is in all reality more suiteble for a Vespa 125 and it is parly why I fitted the rig. I also have two Vespa. May buy an R45 for the intermediate 🫣
I therefor nearly always look up where a poster is located to get the perspective of the observations.

I get the pun but the dog most definitely will not. Besides, still getting him accustomed. Hope to do the last session today. A vueltecita with him on the lap of ex+1. She will be off for holidays so me looking after the farm and it would a lót easier if I can take him in the rig.
 
Dynamat lower half of front guard, rubber either side of front guard / fender screws and new Metzeler ME88 has reduced road noise. Next the cow bells with some material to reduce harmonics.

Did you do it all in one step? Just curious which made the largest difference. I may try the rubber spacers and the sound deadening but want to get tires on my other bike before the R18 if possible...not a fan of all the road noise from the front though.

Tyre on first ; reduction noticeable. Next day sound matting and rubber buffers either side of screws . Better outcome. Good reduction.

I don´t anymore. When I slowed down from fast bikes went open faced, sun glasses and paying more attention to my surroundings :p
Did try out the top speed of my R18 steed. And then again with the performance plates / exhaust flap delete. Should have donned full face and ear plugs :rolleyes:
My charming pillion passenger, also with open faced, loved it btw 🫣
 
I took mine for a ride today and took the time to reflect on how the front tyre is going. I have about 2,000 kms or so now on the 5yo unused 19" adventure tyre that I had hanging in the shed and decided to fit (all ratings were ok) . All is going well, lots of grip and makes the bike very "flickable", really felt that on the first ride, now it is normal off course. It seems to have a more round profile. My expectation is about half the normal milage though.. bit it is a part adventure bike now.

The ‘25 edition has right angle tyre valves, but I don’t know when that was introduced.
