Hi guys I'm new to this forum Currently living in the UK.
I have previously owned r18 first edition but after 3years i trade it for r18 roctane.
Currently doing some upgrades like sissy bar, handlebar, bar end mirrors etc.
Could someone please provide information regarding the clutch fluid utilized by BMW for factory fills?

I am seeking clarification as I recently installed a King Ape handlebar on my 2024 R18 Roctane, necessitating extended brake and clutch hoses. I acquired the BMW-recommended Hyspin V10 (blue) from my local dealership. However, upon inspecting the clutch reservoir, I observed a yellow or greenish fluid, rather than the expected blue.

Any insights into the identity of this fluid and whether it is permissible to intermix it with the Hyspin V10 would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards Mirun

Welcome and congratulations on your Roctane. Be sure to post a picture when the bike is finished, would be interesting to see the results. I am not an expert and hopefully someone with more experience will provide further insight. The break fluid is of a yellowish colour, DOT 4, you can clearly see this via the glass window on the handlebar and foot break reservoir. Unfortunately there is no window for the clutch fluid but I can see that Motorrad recommends the Huyspin V10 which is blue in colour. As far as I am aware two different colours of the same fluid should not be mixed, take coolant as an example, therefore if you have a new bottle of the clutch fluid in your hand, if I were you, I would drain the old clutch fluid and replace it with the new one.
Does not help you much but it is just my personal opinion.

Yup. That is what Motorrad sold to the OP.
Given that the bike is practically new, I like to think the clutch fluid already present in the bike is the correct one. What puzzles me is the difference in colour compared to the one sold on the street, this is why if I was in that position and have a new bottle at hand, I would discard the old fluid and pour the new one in.

Thank you for your quick response to my question. I will post some pics after I finish my modifications. Love the paint work on your bagger. Hopefully will get the access to the bleeding valve to perform flushing the system.

I have already hyspin v10 fluid that's not a problem. The issue is that the bike clutch system has different colour fluid in the system filled at factory, and flush is a nightmare because clutch bleeding valve is hidden behind the engine. But thank you for your response any way. Any advice is always appreciated.

With a 6mm wrench clamped in a long reach needle-nose pliers (maybe a long reach vise grip would work better) you can reach in above the drive shaft behind the battery and break loose the bleed screw.

Thank you for your help. I will have to work some magic with it.

Thanks for your help. Great news. Will have to do some magic with it. Good thing is that's doable without stripping the bike more.
