Odometer shows I assume is key fob battery voltage. I checked it , shows 3.3 volts . That's good. So what is this. I don't have a manual. Help!20251101_105803.jpg

I think it is trying to tell you that the battery in the fob will need replacing soon. It happened to me about a year ago and I replaced it with a CR2032 type. Unfortunately this new battery only took a month before another warning showed up and I happened to be at the dealership at the time, so I made a small comment about it. One of the tech guys overheard me and suggested I replace it with one of BMW ones, yup, BMW thinks of everything, and the tech guys told me it had 12 months warranty, so I gave them the fob and a fiver and that was the end of it. So far so good.

I installed new battery same type. Problem still exist. The battery voltage is 3.3 volts no problem there.

Good evening,
Indeed, it seems that not all CR2032 batteries are suitable for BMW transponders. The dealership told me they use VARTA batteries and replaced mine during a service, explaining that many batteries on the market are incompatible. I think you need to use batteries from recognized brands with a high capacity.
I think it's better to spend 4 or 5 euros to avoid any trouble with this.

I checked voltage,3.3 volts on the old one which was maybe 7 months old. Replaced battery with new , and I cleared the fault ,all good 👍

There's a bunch of counterfeit and or batteries for sale that have exceeded the shelf life date; I've continued to use the DURACELL brand, no issues what's so ever..

Also, stores you Key FOB some physical distance between the bike; this will break the wireless connection between the bike & FOB, savings battery life.

Owners Manual: You @Dpolo1 can download the owners manual from the BMW Motorrad site, plus a bunch of other really well detailed installation instructions for all of the BMW accessories.

I had to replace mine after about a year. Energizer or Duracell for the replacement and you shouldn't have an issue.
