What did you do to your R18 today?

Home sick from work today; I finally got around to putting some BLACK colored heat shrink on the newly installed wiring from the Reverse Fix, the RED colored lug was driving me crazy... (T-30 Torx).

Also, put a plastic nut cap on the Reverse motor that is somewhat exposed on the opposite side; I'm not sure why the technicians can't do this $#@! correctly...?

That black plug in the photo; covering the jump start teminal should also be quite convenient for direct charging the battery. Beats faffing with the battery and stuff in the way from the other end.
Will try that before it is needed one day.

I've jumped started my buddy's Road Glide using the Positive Terminal (which is currently capped) and the Ground lug underneath the cylinder; that said, it took 15 min to take apart his bike just to get to a jump point on his battery...

I wanted to push the look of my new (to me) R18 further away from my Triumph Bobber, and when I spotted a brand new RSD Fastback seat in brown leather for only $300 I snatched it up. I installed it with and without the included leather strap, and opted to keep it on for a nice finishing touch. It’s more comfortable than the stock seat too.

Better photo to come after I exit my tiny garage later.

The bronze (!) rondels are véry striking btw.

Will not fit a bronze one to the front cover but the chrome 100 years one.

Tried to turn my 2023 Pure into a more comfortable road bike (upgraded suspension, Day Rider seat, Wunderlich Sport Fairing, BMW waxed cotton saddle bags, etc.) for a recent 5-week tour of the eastern Canadian provinces. The add-ons helped a little, but I've determined the bike will never be a comfortable long-distance bike, in my opinion. So, I decided to turn it into more of a heavy-weight street cruiser - which I think is probably the real intention of this bike in the first place. Added Unit Garage drag bars and bar-end mirrors. The OEM indicators were slightly touching the tank at full-turn, so I replaced them with Spiegler micro indicators. These things are bright! Also replaced the BMW waxed cotton panniers (that were barely water-resistant) with Viking saddlebags which I think match the lines of the bike better. The Unit Garage bars are narrower and flat, so it gives a very different riding position and steering quality. Completed the 6000 mile service and then took it out for a test ride this morning. :)

Nice job

One question: how that handlebar could be more comfortable?

Hello Luis. Don't think the UG bars will be any more comfortable, but they look better to me in black to match the frame, levers, etc. They make me lean forward, which redistributes my weight between the seat and the bars. Maybe this forward position will be a little easier on my skinny bottom. :) On my first test ride, noticed I was getting slightly more wind protection from the sport fairing because of the lean angle - I could actually leave my helmet visor up. Anyway, my plan is just to make the bike into a good-looking, short trip, around town kind of cruiser. Will probably look to add another bike in the future - maybe a mid-weight adventure bike - for my next cross-country trip.

I removed the bren tune from my bike as I have it booked in for the reverse fix and a service in 2 days time. I then took it for a 50km ride to ensure it all was ok before the 200km trip to the dealer. Anyway..... it felt different.

Brought the brand new bike home from the dealer 7pm last night. 7am this morning I’m out in the garage swapping out the windshield before my first ride!

Took off for a quick 180 mile break in ride before lunch.

Let the bike cool off from noon till 2, then went to town on the saddlebag reflectors.
Got the BMW Vance and Hines pipes installed after pulling the baffles and took it for a spin around the neighborhood.

Might install the DNA stage2 air filter tomorrow and finish up the break-in miles - depends on the weather.

 bike.

As to the air filter have a look at

This is dry filters and available in three ´qualities´. The basic one is like the OEM filter but filtering more yet with less resistance (finer fibers) and imo best vfm.

Rode my '22 Low Rider and '21 R18 Classic back-to-back today. The Low Rider has a performance cam and exhaust. Sounds and feels just like a H-D should. I get more enjoyment out of riding the heavier, slower R18 though. Go figure.

I usually like the look of WW’s, but for some reason I can’t seem to like the look on the R18. I think they clash with the nostalgia of this bike. No offense intended and it does dress the bike up. They really make the pinstripes pop
