2021 BMW R18 FE
Hi everyone, I am glad I found this place! I have had a 2021 FE that I got from the good people at Go Fast Don't Die in 2023 to ride across the US to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. I rode the bike over 500 miles a day from Los Angeles to Lancaster PA and loved almost every minute of it. Riding in to Dallas in the rain wasn't great, and neither was riding through the smokey mountains in the rain. But other than that, it was amazing. I thought I'd be popping advil like M&M's but I didn't take one the whole trip. I loved the bike so much that bought it and hope to keep it until I can't ride anymore and then hand it down to my (yet unborn) grandkids. I'm not sure how much more customization I am planning on doing, I have a few subtle ideas but mostly I love it the way it is now. Looking forward to getting to know you all. tempImage9sZsio.jpgtempImageIHduWh.jpg

Welcome along, lots of info on the forum, there’s some expensive accessories on that bike, you’ve done well. 👍

Glad to have you here. Thanks for sharing your story. I am sure many of us would love to hear more in depth about your trip. This is THE place for all things R18. A plethora of information. Hope the “new” bike serves you and your future grandchildren well!

It was a helluva trip. LA to Phoenix, Phoenix to Roswell, Roswell to Dallas, Dallas to Austin, Austin to Louisiana, Louisiana to Atlanta, Atlanta to Virginia and Virginia to home. I have been half-assedly writing a book about the trip and my cancer journey, telling both stories parallel to each other in a "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" style.
