Hi Everyone.....

If you would like to support the site, I have set up some membership upgrades that will give you a Site supporter Banner if you purchase one. (voluntary)

Currently It costs me 65 USD a month to host the site on Microsoft Azure. This will increase slightly as we grow. It costs about 150 USD to 200 USD year to keep the software up to date so its not too expensive. I may add google ad-sense to the site to generate some advertising revenue but it probably wont be much. Supporting Members would not see the ads.

I didn t know it costs so much to keep a forum running . So that s roughly 80 usd total a month , right? Don t you have something to do with the R18 business ? A BMW employee?

Not to be argumentative but regardless of forum monthly costs - even if there were none, there is still the cost of the equipment, the cost of communicating, and the cost of time to consider. My bike costs me way more than what I pay for my gas each month.

A fast responsive website that has a global reach will not run on a cheap shared web server. The forum also runs on a MySQL database so dedicated hardware is needed. Otherwise the site would slow and laggy.
 
If I was a bike manufacturer i would push to have somebody in my staff creating and running a forum like this. That s why i was asking . Just for info of course .
