Fault Code

Hello everybody.
I have a 2021 R18 Classic First Edition. Suddenly came up with a fault code1 and a wrench icon on the display. Hooked up a GS911 and ran the auto scan. Came up with:

Body Controller Lite
Fault code value: 0xE58C04
Fault Code Description: LIN ZSB message time out
Eingang-Schalterblock-Erweiterung (translation: Input Switchblock Extension)

The fault won’t clear. Does any body know what the problem is? Any fix? Any help greatly appreciated!

Look up this code E58C04 The 0x at the beginning, since you tried to clear the code, means it's happened zero times since you attempted to clear it. Otherwise, take your bike in for the next 6000 or 12000 mile service and see if BMW clears it out when resetting your service interval

Thanks Pork Rind. I'll see what the dealer can do. I was hoping to be able to clear it on my own, but it looks like it's more than I can handle in my garage.

It's your head light or tail light circuit. Either hot wire or ground wire, usually brown, has lost contiuity, or a bulb failed. Turn your bike power on at night and see which o light is out, of all your running lights.

BTW, if all of them work, then don't worry about clearing it out, that'll get done next time you get your bike serviced by BMW.

Problem Statement:


This is a thread that we all should contribute too; especially those of us, who have experienced a specific fault code, figured out the root cause and the corrective action.

I propose we use the above mentioned format, which would serve as an easy way for other R18 forum members to search, when troubleshooting their bike. Unfortunately, "knock on wood", I don't have any contributions in terms of fault code information; accept for, the error I experienced on the Bobber Project with the taillight assembly. I'll see if I saved any of the fault code information; however, I definitely posted the wiring diagram which cleared the issue.
