Clearwater Dixi Lights and Billie Brake Light

Hi Friends,

I just got done adding a set of Clearwater Dixi lights and their Billie Brake Light kit to my R18B. Thanks to Adam's videos, the installation was barely harder than running some extension chords. Took it for a ride tonight and have to say the lights are highly recommended. On low you can see much better than stock and on high it's like daylight in front of you. Will get some pics loaded up soon. Mounted the lights to the Hornig stainless crash bars. I'm in Northern CA, and it was 33 on the ride home tonight, which limited my enthusiasm slightly (older, wiser, maybe not). Cheers.

Hello! I've just installed the Hornig bar, but don't see that size (1.33"/33.8mm) listed on the clearwater light site. What did you use?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve, I believe I used the 1.25". Originally purchased the 1.5", which was too big. The 1.25" wasn't perfect either, but I got it to work. The lights are amazing in the dark and were really easy to install. Plug and play.

Excellent....Thanks!

I'd concur the Clearwater are great add-ons. I have a set of Ericas on my GSA and at full tilt on a backroad they turn night into day. Huge benefit over the stock fog lights.

Do they sell kits of just one light? I know it seems like a handicap but I'd imagine you get a lot with just one light and the kit as a pair is pretty pricey.

Did you integrate them with the can opener? I have a set of Ericas and Krista’s as well as the Billie light on my R1200RT. I’m just glad they came with the bike when I bought it, they are not cheap, espically installed on the RT.

Which part of Northern California? I’m in Danville and saw an R18 classic, I think it was in Manhattan Matte.

I agree they are pricey. I delayed for years. I broke down and bought a set and the very first ride I went on left at "oh my gawd it's early! Came around a corner and as the lights panned the opposite shoulder I saw 3 sets of eye's, Danger close! Slammed on the brakes and stopped it was deer, I might have missed # 1,2 & 3...... But 4,5 & 6 woulda killed me.! money well spent was immediately noticed! All of them crossed the road not 10 feet in front of me! So thankful for those lights

Yeah I have a similar issue but instead of deer it would be random pedestrians j-walking literally anywhere! I am under the belief I would be good with just one big one. Can't hurt having two though for sure.

I'll try to get some picture of the lights posted soon. They are scandalous at night. It's a long play; you're not going to get all the money out of them in one month, but you'll have them for a very long time. You could easily change them to another bike if needed.

Picture please
Took some photos of the finished work. Very clean install with the wires tucked nicely under the tank.

Steve
