Oh! And I swapped out my brown Day Rider for a black one. I was going to get a Cross Country, but it turns out it is a one piece saddle with a faux split between the rider and the pillion!

After being driven crazy by a black caliper on the rear and chrome calipers on the front ... bye bye chrome calipers! I also took the opportunity to black out the ignition coil covers and intake covers.

Duplicolor Ceramic for high heat. Claimed as gloss, but definitely sat down as more of a satin to a matte. If I do it over again, I'd use the Duplicolor Caliper paint that I used on the calipers --it has a nice smooth, satiny sheen to it.

I think they assumed most people would leave the bags on and therefore wouldn’t notice the black caliper at the rear. It would have driven me mad tbh if I’d bought a classic

Go on the BMW Motorrad site and you can see them on the BMW R18, Build Your Own, Configurator. You'd have to check availability and price on line or with your dealer.

Bolts arrived for my DNA cover so was able to complete the install. Will have to wait until the weekend to see if there’s any discernible difference.

The inside of the OEM airbox lid has a curved section which would be in contact with the filter, seems odd to cut off that much airflow unless it’s to keep the intake noise down for EU regs or something? There are however, 4 holes to the top of the lid behind that section for air to pass through.

Looks great. I love these bikes and the variations. Curious as to why you chose different ‘blacks’ and not black storm metallic across the board.
