Where have all the chrome parts gone?

R18 Anniversary Edition
I understand a majority of riders prefer gloss back to chrome. But it seems chrome engine covers, chrome valve covers, & chrome inlet covers have all been sent to Siberia.

My anniversary edition R18 has chrome trim everywhere and I like it. While contemplating the purchase of another R18 it has occurred to me it will be black.

With great effort I have been able to obtain a chrome engine cover and chrome valve covers, but nary a chrome inlet cover in sight.

If you see one for sale, by all means reply to this thread and I'll be greatful for the tip,

I don´t. Accept is as the current fashion. Like white cars became the new black but opposed to white being more practical than blacck under the southern sun, black chrome is just fashion. Basically marketing influenced taste. No need to understand.
Result is that it has currently the way of the back of the garage/store. It is still there. Hope you find what you want.

Regarding AliExpress I recently wanted a chrome oil cooler guard to go with my new red R18. Couldn’t find a Wunderlich one (that I had previously bought they seem to not stock them anymore🤷‍♂️) so ordered one that tbh looked identical, for half the price. I paid £45 and change.

Postage took a while because I’d inadvertently ordered the day before China went on a complete two week holiday/shut down. Anyway, it did arrive eventually and overall it was a positive experience, however, there were three or four very tiny imperfections in the chrome that shouldn’t have been there. I briefly considered returning it but 1) couldn’t be bothered and 2) thought it’s likely to get road rash anyway. So, I suppose I’d say (on my one experience admittedly) you get what you pay for.

Try Amazon or EBay for the same product.
