Slip-Grab clutch

I was one of the unlucky chaps who bought a new R18 that has a slip-grab clutch. I have kept this to myself as I like the R18 a great deal. It is rare (the Oklahoma City dealer said mine was the 2nd one they have seen since R18 was announced).
The slip-grab clutch manifests itself as a jack hammer sound and is felt in the clutch lever when pulled.
I was told it would wear itself out over time. It is less pronounced now but still there. It is a high frequency knocking sound resulting from a temporary grab and release on the friction surface.

Does anyone else out there have the slip-grab clutch jackhammer?

Reading your description made me realise I have the same issue. Will it cause issues down the road? Is it a thing covered by warranty you think?

I went to the nearest BMW dealer thinking it was warranty work time.
They showed me paper work from Germany saying this effect will wear itself out….and mine did at 2,500 miles.
This bike has a very large clutch plate relative to other brands. On some R18’s it grabs and releases rapidly until a wear pattern develops.
They recommended letting the clutch slip while starting from stop in 1st gear. In other words race the engine slightly while not releasing the clutch lever fully.
That will cure it.
