2024 BMW R18 Roctane
Hi Everyone!

Just joined the forum after I've been kicking tires at my local dealership for a Roctane for some time now.

I've always loved the look and idea of a Harley Road King but wanted something different. I've been enamored with how beautiful the R18 looks so when I found out I could get a windshield for the Roctane I was sold!

Plans are to make this into a long distance tourer. Got a windscreen on the way, working on getting some bar risers and from there at the moment crash protection.

Can't find much aftermarket support for seats, I'm digging the Corbin Gunfighter seat with a back rest, what's the groups opinions on aftermarket seats?

Also I hate the fact it's only a 4 gallon tank. I'm going to work on a project to confirm if I can fit a R18 gas tank on the Roctane and report back.

I have the "Weekender" seat and backrest on my R18 100 anniversary model. Very comfy. It moved me forward 1.5 inches and up about an inch. The reason this is important is it changes the ergonomics considerably.

Hi mate, welcome to the forum, well I’m getting mine (Roctane) delivered on Wednesday, same colour gloss black. Going to leave mine pretty much stock though. There’s loads of advice and experience on the forum so if you have any questions someone has probably already been there so use the ‘search’ button and grab a brew 👍

If you're serious about touring on your Roctane, go whole hog and look into getting a Russell Day Long custom seat. They truly live up to their name. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

I've thought about it but I can't get over the looks of how it would look like on the Roctane 😅

Nice! I recently bought a Roctane as well. Which windshield [kit] did you buy? I'm also planning on doing some nice long rides once the cold is gone and maybe swapping the seat for something more comfy for those trips. The stock seat really looks nice so I may just get a cushion for the pillion. Don't tell her I said that 🤫😆

I ended up getting the R18 Classic windshield setup and I'm going to try out the stock shield and then switch to a jurrock windshield for the classic if needed.

These aftermarket seats certainly don’t do much to preserve those beautiful lines, do they?

I bought a second hand Corbin last year and haven’t ridden a mile with it on my B. Just can’t swallow the looks so I’m sacrificing a bit of comfort. I suppose I’ll eventually pop it on if I do a significant journey.

Same reason I took my factory seat in to get upholstered I did not like the looks of the RDL or Corbin on the R18 and not impressed with the comfort of the Sargent

Congrats on your new Roctane. I also have a Roctane, it has the mineral matte metallic paint. Only mods i've done are adding a National Cycle wind deflector screen and increasing exhaust flow by drilling a 1.25 inch hole in the end of each baffle using a 1.25 inch hole saw. Just slightly louder, not obnoxious.
