There is wide speculation about a new K bike and some even daring YouTube AI channels saying it will be 1800 as opposed to 1600 to compete with the King of the Baggers, some even call it the K1000R 😂
We need to wait and see.

I keep checking on you guys and follow whatever you guys are up to, hope none one mind me doing this. I love this place and it is a hard to break habit.
I have not ridden much as coincidentally my left knee has been bothering me for a bit , so only 328 mls at the mo. The K is an absolute beast and joy to ride but so was my B. The difference between the two is that the K accelerates to warp 2 speeds in a millisecond without even trying or pushing hard and it is silky smooth from start up throughout the gears. The quick shifter is also a game changer, you don’t even notice the changes going up providing your throttle is open. Downshifting you will because the engine breaking provides feedback. One thing I immediately noticed was the manoeuvrability. She is very flickable, even at low speeds or tight turns. I was concerned about commuting on her given she is wider than the B but if the mirrors go through so will the panniers, therefore I still commute to London 3 days a week. There are a couple of drawbacks.
DIY. Far too many panels to remove. Because the engine is enclosed, even the basic jobs will have you working for a couple of hours I suppose. The other thing is that she runs hotter than the R18. Operating temperature is at around 85c but will creep up to 105c on slow traffic and then the fan kicks in. Fuel consumption not as good as the B since I managed 62mpg average compared to 48.7 on the K but there are 6 cylinders to feed so not too bad I think.
Stereo? No way near the Marshals on my B. Only good till about 50mph.
Other than that, I am very pleased with the performance, comfort and build quality. My only regret is not having a big enough garage 😭

Here are some pics I took last week on a trip to Maldon in Essex. The way there has many twisties and hills, therefore needed to assist with the breaking period.

Looks really nice in that silver, very imposing machine, glad you like it Anibal and hopefully your knee will be better soon so that you can enjoy the better weather (even though we had heavy rain & hailstorms here yesterday!) 👍

Totally forgot about the Honda Rune. The 2000s were such a crazy time for cruiser design.

The Rune was intended from start to finish as a limited edition signature art exercise. It was not meant to sell well and even less to make a profit.

If BMW want to walk thát walk it will need some pretty large shoes. In the current market can not see them spend the money needed for that.
 
That may be what Honda said after they realized it didn't sell well to save face but there's no way any company will PLAN to lose $ on a new venture.

And yeah, don't do the same mistake BMW .... you'll sell about as many as Honda did with their Rune, if not less even.
 
This was just a concept bike. A statement. A Marketing ploy. It or anything close will ever be sold. If anything comes of it, an 1800 6 cyl may replace the 1600. imho
