R18 Classic
Hello R18 folks

I purchased a full MAD Exhaust (2 barrels version, including eliminators).
Only at end of fitting it on the bike it seems it is NOT compatible with my Classic and the bags I love
Reason is the rear metal part on left and right side of the bike has 2 features:
One part is made to hold the standard exhaust
The other part is made to hold the Bag
And since it is the same part of a Y-shaped metal support, if removed I'll lose the Bag support.

Someone knows if there is a way to purchase
- that support, used, I can modify cutting away the exhaust side
- another support made just to keep original bags, without original exhaust

The support part is at this address
https://www.ricambi-moto-bmw.it/bmw...upporto-borsa-morbida/2/2515326/46/6124061240

And I'll need something without the parts I highlighted in green

Thank you for help,

I had the same issue and did what you are thinking of. I cut off the circled area. They may need to be milled off on the end that attaches to frame to clear your muffler. Maybe I can post a picture.

Hi oldslodog, thank you for your reply
Yes I would like to receive a picture thank you
And, do you know when could I buy the 2 set of parts so I can work on a pair of them and keep the original ones intact in case I would to install original exhaust?
As per my link it seems only one of the 2 parts exist as spare part
Thank you

Sorry for the delay, the weather around northern Michigan is keeping me busy. They are noy yet finished. I simply cut the ends off and ground them round. I needed to make them a little thinner in the in the rear to clear the muffler. After I did this to the mount I thought of just cutting some from 1/2 in. plate aluminum and outlined the pattern. I will locate all holes then cut the piece out and finish. they will be stronger and lighter than the cast steel pieces20251229_095755.jpg

So what you are doing is this: removing the "long" bar used to keep the original exhaust in place with the metal part you are to build
At end, the metal bar will just keep in place the rear bags and you would have room for the new exhaust
