@Anibal is correct. There are tank-frame design differences that prevent the larger B/TC tank from being able to be fitted on the R18/Classic models (unless spending $$$ to redesign and fabricate the hard parts).

I’ve ridden my R18C on multiple long distance tours and the smaller petrol capacity dictates it as the #1 logistical consideration especially in more remote areas.

It wasn’t too bad in conditions where I could see close to 200 miles on a tank, but a real pain in the arse where I was looking for a station nearer 120 miles traveled due to several factors, but IMO mostly influenced by 💩 petrol blends mandated in certain regions.

There are additional differences between the Classic and B/TC models options to consider. I bought my Classic for the very subjective reason of how I loved the look since the original photographs were "leaked" to the public, but objectively the luggage and fairing of the B/TC offer more practical benefits for extended travel and the front suspension while using the same "forks" has a beneficial geometry as to handling (quicker turn in = less "cruiser-ish"), and the rear shock offers longer travel with electronic adjustment.

The Classic is lighter, I love her looks and I only needed to change to the optional BMW "Weekender" seat to allow for weeks of back to back 400-600 mile days traveled in comfort. The Classic's saddlebags and windshield are more than sufficient for me (YRMV) and I use a large waterproof duffle bag for most of my luggage needs so fuel capacity was the only real issue to work around.

I have used a variety of containers to carry extra fuel and each has it's benefit(s), but for multiple mounting options, least intrusive and quality-reliability here a couple of examples to ponder.

Good luck, sounds like an awesome trip!
