HI All,

As I'm planning on the things I wished to do on my R18 recently, I was thinking about the getting additional brake light and Signal lights.

As i understand that the bike runs on the Canbus system, to be able to tap another power source, it have to be through the standard connections and if the power required is too large, it will create a FaultCode.

Have any one run the bike currently with an additional brake light similar to this kind?
only when the brakes are activated.

For the Signal lights, I'm intend to have this mirror replacing the stock mirror and the LED lights, will be linked to the DRL from the main headlights.

Anyone knows if the extra DRL/signals lights and the extra brake lights will cause any Canbus error code?

Or if there is anyway I can code the Canbus system to handle the extra electrical load?

TIA

i'm on the way of creating a Twin headlight setup on my 100th..

always wanted a cruiser with a Twin headlight... although 2 of the R18's stock 7" headlight is kinda too BIG, But I will try with it and see how well it goes..

my current bike does have a small fly screen that's from a R9t as per the additional image

mock-up picture in comparison with it's closest

here's how the existing fly screen on bike looks like, most likely the 2 ends of the screen will be cut off once the twin headlight is working

Yes, I can confirm that the canbus system will not allow much extra electrical load on various circuits.

I fitted one Denali additional LED brake light & it worked no problem but when I added another one the brake light circuit went into fault mode, (and recorded it in the module, easily cleared with RS911).

I got around the problem by fitting a solid state relay (minute power draw) in parallel with the brake light circuit to activate the relay and took an accessory feed through the relay to power the new LED’s. Works fine now.

I had a similar issue with my Denali Soundbomb horn.

Good luck with your mods!
