Chrome Rear Axle Cover Cap Lost

Wow, after reading some of these other issues, mine seems irrelevant. I should report I lost one of the rear axle chrome cover caps - just fell off somewhere. BMW wants $70 and a month delivery since they ship from Germany. Small issue but still annoying.

What holds those covers on? Or how are they attached?

There are three indentations within that space so I'm assuming the cover has tabs that snap into them. They are loose - not firmly fixed. My local parts manager thinks maybe they can be warranty replaced. Gonna look into this - even though I all ready purchased a replacement.

I lost the right side one! I'm thinking of taking off the left one just so both sides match lol

Tim's R18FE, that's exactly what I did... it just pops off with a screwdriver. I'm gonna wait until I receive the replacement then gonna glue them in place.

My local BMW Motorrad Service Manager did confirm these rear axle end caps can be warranty replaced. Take you bike to your local BMW dealership.
