Ok. This is the worst crap I've ever delt with in both a car and motorcycle. How the hell am I supposed to access the negative terminal on this bike? I can get the battery halfway out, but then nothing more? I'm trying to add a quick disconnnet for my trickle charger, but it's not possible to remove the battery enough to get to the terminals. I really need help on this.
There is also no clear documentation on how to disable the anti theft crap, so I don't know what will happen when I reconnect the battery either. UGH

Have you tried using the search function on this forum; https://www.r18forums.com/threads/battery-removal-r18-classic.770/
and also looked on youtube?
Since you have already disconnected the negative I assume you mean the positive btw.

It should not be much of an issue.
What probably will be a minor thing is that you most likely will get a fault code which needs resetting.

This observed you could also consider using the jump start terminals.

I don't understand what that thread says. I don't know what a "Piggy back" is.
I did find this on Amazon. Could I use this with my trickle charger?

The jump start terminals are in the owners manual and also again easily found with the search function here.

Your generic charger should work on the jump start terminals.

I am a bit 🤬 about your judging the bike without looking up the most elementary first.

Good luck.

Oh, I found that thread before I posted this. I just didn't understand what I was reading.

I've looked on both sides of my bagger and I do not see any jump start terminals like the manual states. Can I charge the battery using that weird socket near the reverse lever? (the din plug to SAE Adapter that I posted a picture of)

Are these the jump start terminals?

Disconnet the wire on the right and tie a string to it so you can pull it back through. That's what they were referring to in the other thread and on the YouTube video. I had to go looking because I am changing my battery before a 2400 mile trip.

Ok, ok.....I was having trouble visualizing the connections in my head (and the rubber cap that the manual referred to was missing). From the positive, there is a jumper wire that is connected to this bracket that is connected to the "jump start terminal". I understand now. Ugh........sorry for the confusion......I just want to connect my quick disconnect for my trickle charger, but for the life of me couldn't figure out what was keeping the battery connected to the battery box.
Every new bike is always a learning experience. Hahahaha!

I am new to this bike, so I'll help if I can. I am more versed in the S1krr's... About to look and see if Woolich has cracked this ECU and make a flash for this thing.

Yes you can use the the socket by the reverse lever for charging, I'm not sure if
you need a special charger as I picked up the BMW charger at a good discount,
and use that for my TC.

I've got it all sorted out now. You all have been a great help (I'm sorry if I wasn't understanding at first). My trickle charger is working as intended now and everything seems to be working correctly.
