Anyone install an aftermarket air filter?

KN filter with DNA stage 2 cover.
Need adaptation on the cover...
Ya .. thanks .. I have since that post changed my opinion about re-mapping and I always hated that screechy noise that an open air filter makes ... I am quite happy and content about using the OEM air box and paper filters and Uschi has more than enough power for what I ride ;)

Ulrich, you would love the brentune, from what I have read you like to get into the throttle and ride hard. I did the brentune with the stock air box / filter, really woke things up with great throttle response in Rock mode. I don't at all regret doing the tune, its fun. A couple weeks later I did the DNA stage 2 with KN filter, in my opinion there was no discernable performance increase over the stock air box and paper filter. This winter when I do my 6k tune up I will put the stock airbox, snorkles, and filter back on.

Tonight I learned that the air filter isn’t exactly near the chrome “air box cover,” and removal of said cover isn’t required when accessing the filter. No, it’s an item which is accessed by removal of the engine cover. Because of course. I’m sure this isn’t news to many of you, but I couldn’t find hardly a peep about this on the inter webs (or here) and was genuinely curious.

Thar she blows! Er, sucks!

So now onto the topic at hand: any advice regarding aftermarket filters? Waste of money? Inbound air passes down a pair of these wee tubes prior to reaching the filter.

I’m thinking a marginally less restrictive filter will have little consequence. Any “Butt Dyno” experience with filter mods on other boxer engines?
I found this after posting a thread. Will just add on here. I use Sprint Filters in my 2023 Hayabusa and a ‘21 Suzuki GSXS-750. They are Great! I was talking with Brock’s Performance this afternoon. Sprint makes a filter for the R18. I immediately ordered one. Will let you all know how it works out.

Nice thought ... but after trying to contact Brentune a couple of times with no response back I have lost faith in that ... I think I am good with as much power Uschi has and the mapping ;)

I put the DNA air filter in my 23 Anniversary model. Didn't really notice a difference, but haven't ridden the bike much since then. I did put a lithium battery in also, and I like the way it starts and runs...

I’ve seen some use round filters instead.. they eliminate the whole box. How is it done?

Just remember if you go full dna with snorkel removal (aka silencer to BMW) the actual engine noise (not exhaust note) will increase.

Yea I’m already on the DNA filter… I just saw someone with two cone filters and thought it was awesome. Really added some aggressiveness. I’m looking for a picture.
