Local Dealer has 40 BMW on showroom floor, not a single R18

My local dealer (Gateway BMW) "supposebly" has 300+ r18s in their crates sitting in storage off site. No r18s on the floor currently because of the headlight issue. As soon as BMW gets the fix and they can start selling, rumor is they are going to have some rebates and incentives like never...

    OBDLink LX

Lol oops. Sorry about that. Yes the obdlink should work with tune ecu. I'm using it with my mx+ adapter

    OBDLink LX

I have the latest version of tune ecu on my android and the BMW R18 is not showing in the list of bikes it supports. But don't take my word as gospel. There may be something I'm not aware of.

    OBDLink LX

Far as I know tune ecu still doesn't do the r18. I have a bonneville also and use tune ecu for it and moto scan with my r18. I'm using the same Bluetooth obd2 scanner for both apps

WTT stock floorboards for my stock pegs

I have no clue but you may try looking up the part numbers for both bikes and see if their the same

    Bagger maybe

Welcome! I've had 2 gen two hayabusas. Planning on a gen 3 as soon as the prices start coming down a little more. I'm already seeing dealers coming down a bit off of msrp so that's a good thing for me. The r18 is a whole different word from a busa as you already know so unless you are tired...

Converting rim from tube to tubeless

Imo nothing beats the classic look of spokes on a classic looking motorcycle. My first r18 had spokes and I was going to seal them with the outex kit but I sold it before it needed new tires. My r18 I have now has the cast rims and although I don't think they look as cool it is nice knowing I'm...

Converting rim from tube to tubeless

With the outex kit you can cut and remove the tape over the spokes you need to tighten. They give you extra tape to splice back in. Or I guess you could just spend another 70$ and redo the whole rim. Considering what you would spend for a new tube it's not a bad deal at all especially knowing...

Converting rim from tube to tubeless

I bought the outex kit for my africa twin and am having good luck so far. I have a royal enfield with spokes and will probably do the same for it. Definitely nice to not have to deal with tubes

Weird case of the bike dying suddenly.

I was having a similar issue and turned out to be a loose positive battery cable connection. No issues since for me either

WTT stock floorboards for my stock pegs

The only con I could come up with is the peg on the shifter could be a little longer, and that is obviously a easy fix. I have long legs so any little bit I can get my legs forward is better for my comfort. My shins are about as close as you can get to the jugs without touching them and that's...

What did you do to your R18 today?

I got the same back rest and it's definitely a quality piece. Quick detachability is nice. I cut the pad down and had it covered to match my custom seats

Steering Damper, To Have or Not to Have?

I removed mine on my base r18 and have yet to notice any difference. I removed it to add the fork covers I got off ebay that didn't have the cut outs for a steering dampner. If I had a b or tc I personally would not remove it because of the big fairing sitting on the forks, but on a base r18...

Missed it by that much... Roctane

I didn't ride one as I saw no need to but I did look over a couple yesterday at the dealer. The bags look to be the exact same as the b and tc models. Rear fender looks the same also. The 21" wheel is noticeably larger. I sat on it and the bars are more ape hangarish and was quite comfortable...

What did you do to your R18 today?

Agreed. For me, having the taller seat, bars in the right position and suspension adjusted made a world of difference
