    Removing tank badges

Saw a video the other day. The guy first unscrewed two bolts. Put some blue paper tape around the badge area. Used dental floss and some credit card to easily remove the badge with no effort nor damage. If I retrieve the link, will post it here.

What does the Corbin seat for the TC look like on a B? Answered!

Oh! Thanks for sharing. When you chose your seat did you have the option to add (or not) a back rest for the passenger? I have a Roctane. On Corbin's website, the Roctane saddle option seems the same as the TC and B. There's no passenger backrest available for these bikes. I wonder if I could...

    Custom emblems

I might have found a local factory that could "coat" the parts with a black mate Cerakote treatment (supposed to be whatever-resistant). If the price is correct, will try their coating solution.

    Custom emblems

I've come across various aftermarket R18 BMW emblems being offered by different suppliers, ranging from simple metal designs to intricately CNC milled aluminum, and even titanium. However, I found both the pricing and the designs somewhat underwhelming. On my Roctane, there are three emblems...

    Changes to Roxana my Roctane

Hello Le déflecteur frontal n'est pas d'origine. D'origine, sans aucune option rajoutée, en gris métallique mat, elle ressemble à ça

Local Dealer has 40 BMW on showroom floor, not a single R18

Around 1/4 bikes shown at nearest local dealer here (large BMW Motorrad branded bike shop) are R18. Among them: 2 Roctane, several R18B and at least 3 TC. Few ot them are "pure" R18

Designing and 3D print additional wind deflector to fit R18

I have also ordered that part. Paid 116 € for them. Will have to add 80€ for painting (Mineral Grey) at a local body shop. No M&M's delicatessen in the box :).

Designing and 3D print additional wind deflector to fit R18

I will post some updates in that post. If you have any questions, or even comments, feel free to put them here. You know, I wanted to print the 'Space Filler' for the Roctane, which goes between the motorcycle and the saddlebags? (Fairly easy to do, in two parts). In french Si tu as des...

Designing and 3D print additional wind deflector to fit R18

Scott you are awesome. Thank you. Your pics are far more helpful than the very small diagram I have! Question for Scott: Can you tell me the size (height and width) of part #2 please? (I think the one I created with Fusion360 is too tall... almost 60cm ) I was thinking about including various...

Designing and 3D print additional wind deflector to fit R18

Hello Thank you for the tips to harden the part!!! I'm using a Prusa mk4 with obsidian nozzle and I still wait for the Prusa XL (which has a larger bed). The finishing of the printed piece will be done by a local body shop that typically works on fairly standard automotive parts. Nice finish...

Designing and 3D print additional wind deflector to fit R18

Hey Guys I am currently thinking about designing some "wind deflectors" to fit on a R18 Roctane, inspired by TC wind deflector design. I saw official references for these TC left and right wind deflector parts. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this was not a single part deflector but at...

Received the RoadStyler Front Engine Guard v2 (pics)

Noob question: was it tricky to remove the damper then put it back? I mean... to put it back in place, is it difficult/tricky or requires high mechanic skills :-) ?

I gave up motorcycles years ago - Am I crazy to think about riding again?

Hello I've read with a lot of interest (for personal reasons I will not share publicly) and I see many good arguments for you to purchase that R18. On holidays on France south, I met my very first R18 TC. The guy who rode it was quite tall (around 1m85) and was about 76 years old. He handled...

Engine crash bars for the Bagger

I have discussed with Roadstyler support through mail. I asked them if their "Back Guards" for R18B would fit a Roctane. They have been honest: they don't know yet as they never tried to adapt them for a Roctane.

Engine crash bars for the Bagger

I've recently ordered their "Front Engine Guard - v2" in matte black, and I'm expecting to receive it in a couple of days. The cost is approximately 260€, including shipping (from Poland to France.) RoadStyler asserts the use of a 3mm thick wall tube, which I believe is thicker (so... tougher?)...

Where can I find BMW color code

Hello I'm planning to acquire the R18 Roctane "Space filler" (part number "77 31 5A7F049"). The part comes primed in black, but the Roctane model is specified as "Mineral Grey Metallic Matt." My intention is to purchase the part and then consult a body shop to have it painted in the "Mineral...

    R18 Roctane protections

Hello Looking for some advices regarding protections to install on a R18 Roctane. I understood I should really install some "engine protection bar" and maybe "baggers protection". I live in Europe so, I looked at what RoadStyler was suggesting as they are in Poland. They sell: Front engine...

Ok, so how many actually are there out in the wild?

Hey During a trip in south of France I met a R18 classic (mounted with a bobber seat) and one R18B. His driver was pretty old (around 70) and handled his bike on the parking at low speed like it had no weight at all. My twin brother has a HD BreakOut and really thinks about seeling it and...
