As much as we like our bikes, when we get objective, the R18 has a lot of challenges when compared to similar models from HD and Indian. The ergos on the R18 are simply atrocious compared to an EG Ultra. I've said before, the R18B and TC target the Street Glide. In that vein, ergos often get...
I don't think the TC seat is all day comfortable. It's good for a couple hours and I'm looking for a break. I've read that the Russel day long seats are the way to go. I'm not riding as much lately so, I don't think I'll upgrade, but that's the way I'd go if I did.
Did plenty of trail braking. In very tight curves the 1800 will not spin up or wind down fast enough in ROLL to adjust. When I need to power out of an apex, I need it NOW. Rock mode fixes that.
Leaving in rock mode all the time destroys fuel economy and I don't relish having a fuel concern...
Ride report...
It was a great ride and got to spend some time getting to know my neighbor better. He was riding a Yamaha V Star 950.
While riding the smoky mountain twisties is always fun, the weather did not cooperate once we got to North Carolina. Attacking tight mountain roads that are WET...
This worked flawless for me today! I was using the OBDLink MX+ with Motoscan Pro on a Motorola Edge Plus 2022.
I've had the OBDLink for about a year and a half but have never used it until today. I did have to do a firmware update using the OBDLink app. Otherwise it was slick as goose poop.
I bought the R18 TC because it was a rolling piece of art. It's simply beautiful.
1. Fit and finish are outstanding. I think it's better than Harley Davidson (except for paint; no one beats HD paint)
2. I was really surprised by the excellent wind management. Just looking at the bike, you might...
Having a guide is helpful.
$5.25 a gallon sounds like a lot of you ride a good bit. Premium is running around $3.25 in SC. I always keep it full and throw a little Stabil in it if it's going to sit.
I know this will open up a flame war but I've never been a fan of putting anything in my bikes...
Depends on how big your head is. If you got a normal size noggin, you got lots of choices. If you got a pumpkin like mine, I've only found two full helmets that are comfortable...the Shoei Neotec and the Simpson. Everything else gives.me a.massive headache in 15 minutes.
Lol! That's a good point. When cleaning my bike I just kicked it out, but of course the bike went back down on the stand and I picked it up from the garage floor. Haha.
This may sound a little nutty, but maybe you could carry a hockey puck or something similar in your jacket pocket, drop it before you get off and kick it into position? I did something like this to get the bike more upright for cleaning and inspection, but never thought of it for normal use...
Did I miss it or has anyone mentioned that most roads are crowned to shed water? Yes, since I'm in the US, almost every bike I've ever owned will eventually veer right without handlebar input. That said, my TC is much less straight line stable than Victory Vision. I would assume that's due to...
