apologies for the late response but, thanks for the detailed clarification. now i can comfortably say, i am not installing the factory CC due to the high labor cost involved. i would be looking for a after market throttle position holder device that's a favorite of the R18 guys.
I see your point. I come from a Honda Suzuki Yamaha world and this is my 6th bike except it's a BMW R18 FE and I did not realize this shortcoming by going with this bike. Innocence I'm kind of regretting it.
How in the world a company will make a bike without a dedicated brake light etc... And...
I'm in US. Will check out Corbin. Not a big fan of Wunderlich coz of the ridiculous prices.
I was hoping someone may have had luck with some sellers in ebay or Amazon to find aftermarket parts for R18 and was looking for recommendations.
i am hoping to buy these aftermarket items from ebay/amazon/aliexpress etc...
1) Batwing fairing with windshield
2) Luggage rack (preferably with LED brake lights) with passenger backrest included
3) Bracket for luggage rack installation
4) Handlebar risers
5) Leather/manmade leather Saddlebags...
been thinking of installing a Trike conversion kit to my R18 FE. Tow-Pak sells kits, wanted to hear from this group if anyone had already done it or is there any specific concerns or issues you know of if i install a trike kit.
FYI: i already have a Tow-pak's GoKit trike conversion installed...
i currently have a trike conversion kit on my Suzuki boulevard from Tow-Pac Inc. Love it! no complains about the kit. Its called a Go-Kit.
I am considering installing a Go-Kit for my 2021 R18 FE too... still thinking. you can look on their website but better to call customer service for...
many oem plug and play comes at a steep price (atleast from my perspective) so, i like to tinker with non-oem hoping to find a decent quality that would last for 5 yrs!
i saw one in Aliexpress...
Is there any budget friendly Non OEM Auxiliary LED Running Headlights. I can live with some makeshift switch or just keep it running while driving day/night. any recommendations will be appreciated.
i am thinking of the same for my FE. Something simple, nothing fancy. More for safety than anything else. infact, any lighting option for safety as long as it legal i will consider!
Could you share more details in a video or some way to describe how this was done and the parts used. Looks very nice - especially to help been seen on the road.
For R18's, BMW only installs steering damper for bikes with cruise control, wanted to hear if anyone opted to install an aftermarket one on your bike and how's the experience. Is it worth considering it or not?
Since, i am told that BMW cant install cruise control on a R18 FE after its already purchased, i am looking for any solutions to install a cruise control for my R18 FE.
damn... thats pretty steep price. the more i have read, it looks like not having it is not a big deal but, on the other hand if it was slightly affordable, i wouldn't have minded to install it for additional safety/ride quality etc. Kind of on the fence now.
